The president of the republic is expected to form an inter-ministerial committee to protect Cocoa beans from being banned in the European Union and Swiss markets because of traces of toxic substances found in them.
The need for this task force has been necessitated due to widespread report on Ghanaian cocoa beans being risk at world market.
In an interview with Omanhene Yaw Adu Boakye on Sompa Tv, the deputy minister of food and agriculture, Honorable Yaw Frimpong Addo said, there has been a series of meeting with other ministries and Cocobod on how best the government can protect the cocoa beans from toxic and maintained its value on the market.
The Member of Parliament for Manso Adubia in the Ashanti Region said, the government will do everything within possible to make Ghana’s cocoa beans safe for more consumption.
He added that it’s the first time the country is getting these extreme warnings from the world market.
