Socialist and political critic, Apostle Paul Kofi Agyekum has stated that reshuffling is not a means of punishing the wrongdoer in office but rather a channel to curtail corruption breeding menace in governance.
Commenting on the consistent call for reshuffling in the Nana Addo-led administration, he said, the perception that government reshuffling to punish Ministers is neither here nor there.
“You see, consistent stay at a particular office or position tends to breed corruption when the government rotates its ministers, it protects the public parse, it helps curb corruption menace in various sectors, it's needful that the president gives a listening ear and makes a change in his cabinets. He said.
He added that Hon Ken Ofori Atta should do the needful to resign as an honorary person amid the call for his sacking from office.
He said politicians should know better and execute their responsibilities as expected of them
“I don't like talking too much, it may seem I know better than them but that's not the case, I don't expect a politician to do better in the ministry of Christ than me the clergy, on the other hand, I shouldn't do better in politics than a politician, so they should know what politics means and do the needful.
He charged the finance minister to emulate honorable members who resigned from their respective positions when things were not going well.
“Aside from his health, it is incumbent upon him to retain his honorary status by resigning from his position than for the president to sack him.
Touching on Adwoa Sarfo's issue, he described the speaker of Parliament as a coward, who has been relentless in his job.
“The speaker is a coward, he doesn't have the courage, what's he waiting for, it's time to hit the nail right on the head and impeach her from office, '' he told Omanhene.
He said this in a discussion with Omanhene on Sompa Tv in the morning on Thursday, October 26, 2022.
