A political scientist at the University of Ghana, Dr. Abdul Ateku Jalilu has said he is never sure the President Nana Akuffo Addo has any plans to dismiss the Finance Minister as being championed by the over 95 majority MPs in Parliament on Tuesday .
It would be recalled that the Majority held a press conference to state that they would reject the 2023 budget statement if the President does not sack the Finance Minister Hon. Ken Ofori.
The President extended an olive branch to see them for discussion and the majority MPS have since acceded to the President’s demand that the Finance Minister would be sacked only after the IMF negotiations was completed.
But speaking to SOMPA NEWS on the development, Dr. Atell Jalilu said he sees the President’s posture as unrepentant towards dismissing the finance minister and would still be maintained after the IMF programmed was completed.
He indicated that the President can never be more right than the 95 MPS, the minority and the various political commentators in the country in their call for the Finance Minister to be dismissed.
