Madam Fati Kinlam, the Sunyani East constituency Women Organizer for the National Democratic Congress (NDC) has organized skill training for women organizers of the various branches.
Majority of the women in the Two hundred and Fifty (250) branches of the party in the constituency received the training in the making of soap and other detergents. The theme of the training was: "Women in Politics; The Pride of National Development.
The training which was held at the catering guest house in Sunyani on Sunday January 8, saw the trainees go through the making of shower gel, liquid soap and parazone. Over fifty (50) branch women organizers received the training.
Madam Fati in an interview with Sompa FM after the training said, "this forms part of my promise and vision for the party when I was contesting the position. When women are skillfully trained and have well set up businesses, their dependency on their husbands and family is greatly reduced.”
"This is the maiden edition of the training and I hope to continue until all the women organizers in the 250 branches are trained", she said.
She stressed that, “one of my priorities as a constituency women organizer is to ensure unity in Sunyani East of the NDC. Apart from that I would like to see my women organizers engaged in skills work. We need to be united in order to win power in the 2024 general election. We can’t afford to allow the current NPP government continue to inflict Ghanaians with hardships.”
Madam Victoria Amoah, Chief Executive Officer of Vicky detergent Formulation, the skill trainer who took the participants through the training said, described it as very successful, saying the trainers asked questions and cooperated fully.
She disclosed that, the trainers only needed start up capitals to start their businesses, saying “I took my time to take through the training and they can work to perfection when they leave here, they only need start up capitals.”
Madam Victoria expressed worry about the failure on the part of Ghanaians to patronize made in Ghana products.
She admonished the beneficiaries to abide by the measurements for making the products and desist from being profiteering and making substandard products.
Some of the beneficiaries expressed their appreciation to the Women organizer for the training.
