Construction works on 11 factories under the government’s One-District-One-Factory (1D1F) programme are progressing in the Bono Region, Mr John Alan Kwadwo Kyeremanten, a former trade and industry minister has said.
He said six of the factories had already been completed and were operational in the region, saying the region would benefit from 20 factories under the programme.
Mr Kyeremanten, now a Presidential Aspirant contesting the impending presidential primaries of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) said this when he paid a courtesy call on the Sunyani Traditional Council in Sunyani to officially declare his intention to contest the race, and rally the support of the chiefs and queens.
He explained that the government had completed 296 factories under 1D1F spread across the country which were all operational as well as 40 technology centers, saying 67 Business Resources Centers had also been constructed nationwide.
Mr Kyeremanten said many of the districts in the country had still not benefited from the 1D1F, and promised to ensure that every district got its share when he becomes a president.
He said the 1D1F initiative sought to create more jobs for the youth, and advised Ghanaians to maintain their trust and confidence in the NPP.
Mr Kyeremanten said President Nana Addo Dawkwa Akufo-Addo’s government had achieved a lot, and was doing much to bring the development of the nation to the next level, saying any change in government would retard development.
He said the NPP needed additional years to complete the several developments projected it had initiated nationwide, saying the NPP appreciated the support of the chiefs and people of the Bono Region, and his government would equally reward the region as well.
That notwithstanding, Mr Kyeremanten said the government had also not neglected the Bono Region in the sharing of the national cake, but added “I will do more to facilitate the development of the region, if you give me the nod”.
