The Member of Parliament for Tamale South constituency in the Northern region, Haruna Iddrisu has suggested the need for Ghana to have a second look at secondary education so as to have a system that produce quality and not quantity graduates.
Contributing to the second reading of "Ghana Commission for UNESCO Bill 2022, the former minority leader explained that the country needs a means to determine who pays for education and who doesn’t and not a political educational system that tries to please everyone.
However, majority Chief whip and MP for Nsawam Adoagyiri, Frank Annoh Dompreh who rebutted the former minority leader who’s statement emanated from the free SHS argument noted that the policy has come to stay, hence it will pass through gradual process.
Parliament of Ghana has gone through the second reading of Ghana Commission for UNESCO Bill, 2022.
The purpose of the Bill seeks to establish Ghana Commission to carry out the aims and objectives and to contribute to the building of peace, the education of poverty, sustainable development and intercultural dialogue for United Nations, Scientific and Cultural Organisation (UNESCO).
