The Majority Leader of Ghana's Parliament Hon. Osei Kyei Mensah Bonsu has claimed that the National Chairman of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) Mr. Johnson Asiedu Nketia demanded from the Minority Members of Parliament to take photos of the YES OR NO voting on the six Ministers in the House yesterday.
According to the Suame MP, the decision was smartly resisted by the Minority MPs since they realized it was a sign of mistrust from their party leadership adding, that must have resulted in the Minority MPs voting for the approval of the six Ministers.
The Chairman of the NDC Mr. John Asiedu Nketia and the General Secretary of the NPP Lawyer Justin Koduah Frimpong as well as other bigwigs of both NDC and NPP were all present in Parliament to offer support to their respective MPs in order to whip them in line to vote according to their interest.
But speaking to Nana Yaw Boamah, host of 'GHANA FAPIM' show on SOMPA 93.1FM Saturday March 25, Hon. Osei Kyei mensah Bonsu maintained that the accusation of the Minority MPs and NDC fanatics claims that the Nana Addo led government is bloated with so many Ministers was a complete lie and cannot be proven entirely.
He recounted that both former Presidents John Mahama and late Prof. J.E.A. Mills rather led the country with rather bigger government size as compared to the current 16 regions under Nana Akuffo Addo administration.
“Both Mills and Mahama led the country with 78 and 76 Ministers respectively in the then ten regions of the country compared to the current 16 regions superintendent by the Nana Addo government, so I do not see the noise being peddled by the NDC MPs. As it stands now Nana Addo is having about 84 Minister so the difference is reasonable and it cannot be termed as a bloated ministerial size”, the veteran MP asserted.
