A parliamentary aspirant for Gomoa East in the Central Region on the ticket of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Emmanuel Appoh Mensah has called on the constituents to rally support behind him to widen the voting gap between the party and its political arch-rival, the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the 2024 general election.
He made this statement in a meeting with constituency executives of Gomoa East at the party's office in Gomoa Akoti.
Gomoa East constituency has for some time now turned into a swing area so far as Ghana's parliamentary general election is concerned.
Emmanuel Appoh Mensah speaking to Sompa TV/FM's Eric Annan at the meeting told the constituency executives to look into his candidature on a larger picture having contributed his quota to the development of Gomoa East.
He highlighted, "The NDC in the 2020 general election at Gomoa East obtained a slim victory of fewer than 800 votes to win over the NPP in the parliamentary general election. I am appealing to the constituency executives to support me to widen the vote margin as their parliamentary candidate for Gomoa East come May 13."
The politician who doubles as a businessman and an international philanthropist, elaborated that his future ambition for Gomoa East under the NDC ticket is to lift the party to a level where any candidate presented to contest for the MP seat will unanimously win.
