President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has arrived in Johannesburg, South Africa, to attend the Democrat Union of Africa (DUA) annual forum.
The President is expected to deliver the keynote address at the Forum, which is scheduled to be held from the 26th to 30th April 2023, in Johannesburg.
Leaving the country for Johannesburg on Wednesday, April 26, 2023, the President was accompanied by the Deputy Minister for Foreign Affairs, Hon. Kwaku Ampratwum, Member of Parliament for Mampong, and some other officials from the Presidency and Foreign Ministry.
The Democrat Union of Africa is an alliance of Centre-right political parties in Africa and aims to bring together parties with similar aims and political goals such as the protection of democracy and individual liberty from the whole of Africa.
President Akufo-Addo will however return to Ghana on Sunday, 30th April 2023.
In accordance with Article 60 (8) of the 1992 Constitution, Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia is expected to as the President.
