Ambassador for standard justice and security Ghana has called on leadership of the various political parties to learn to respect internal elections guidelines.
The Group commended Dr Dufour and his campaign team to use the legal system to seek redress in the roundup to the opposition NDC Presidential and Parliamentary Primaries. This is good for nation building and healthy for our democracy.
The President of the Group Mr Michael Adombila in an interview with Sompa News said Inasmuch as we at GASJUS support justice and security for all, we also want every citizen to use the proper internal channels to seek redress before looking elsewhere for redress which create division, tension and waste of resources when it comes to party politics in Ghana.
Anytime an individual takes his/her party to court, that individual suffers more damages than the party and earns himself/herself a tag “Traitor “not because the plaintiffs are wrong but, because parties in Ghana have their internal legal system that handle disputes and concerns.
individuals who do not express their concerns and displeasure about certain stances and issues, but, use the government institutions like the courts of competent jurisdiction to seek redress also tarnished their own image.
He stressed that, the sad thing is that, they do not suffer alone, but drag their families and people purported to be associated with them into that abyss given room for rumours to linger on as it is said that, he is doing the bidding for the ruling NPP government to handle his case (charges of fraudulent breach of trust, money laundering, and other related offences) with kids gloves.
The party had a meeting with all the representatives of the candidates involved to inform them about the challenges and how to resolve them which were unanimously agreed upon and hence the preparation for the elections.
The litigation from Dr. Dufour’s camp if upheld by the court will put an injunction on the election consequently affecting their resources and timelines for their election and calendar.
