The Minister for Gender, Children, and Social Protection (MoGCSP), Madam Lariba Zuweira Abudu, has reaffirmed government’s commitment to ensuring that the allowance of caterers are paid promptly.
She made this statement on Friday, June 16, 2023, when she engaged the Regional Coordinators of the Ghana School Feeding Program (GSFP) following a fruitful engagement with the Leadership of Ghana School Feeding Programme (GSFP) caterers.
According to her, education is at the heart of government priorities which explains the massive investments in the educational sector which includes the school feeding thus strengthening the foundation of future generations.
Madam Lariba Zuweira Abudu indicated that the Ministry’s engagement with the Regional Coordinators of the Ghana School Feeding Program (GSFP), among other things, was to discuss and brainstorm on how the coordinators can effectively monitor the activities of caterers in their regions.
She said it was also to discuss best cooking practices to ensure that nutritious meals are served to beneficiaries of the programme.
The Minister urged coordinators to constantly monitor the activities of caterers within their jurisdiction to ensure they adhere to the cooking guidelines and standards of GSFP.
Present at the meeting were the Deputy Minister, Madam Francisca Oteng Mensah, Chief Director, Dr. Afisah Zakariah, National Coordinator of the GSFP, Dr. Gertrude Quarshigah and some Management Heads of GSFP.
