Chief of Dankwakrom a suburb of Cape Coast in the Central Region, Nana Kweku Dankwah III together with Nana Kobina Ameyew, Abusuapanyin for the Abura Royal Family accompanied by party constituency executives have on Thursday picked nomination form for the immediate past Member of Parliament for Cape Coast North Constituency, Barbara Asher Ayisi to contest in the New Patriotic Party (NPP) upcoming parliamentary primaries.
The calm but colorful picking of form for the former Deputy Education Minister which was later presented to her at her residence at Pedu Estate, got the former MP shedding tears having turned emotional over the privilege of her getting non other but chiefs to pickup her nomination form.
Mrs. Steller Bilson, Chairperson for the Parliamentary Election Committee for Cape Coast North Constituency who doubles as Chairperson for the constituency's Council of Leaders after issuing the form to the group who came for it, required of them to embark on a clean and fair campaign in other not to have the party divided going forward.
Barbara Asher Ayisi upon receiving her nomination form with a delightful presentation, thanked the chiefs and constituency executives who despite everything still remembered of her good works during her reign as MP for the constituency by picking a nomination form on her behalf.
Some NPP constituency executives of the Cape Coast North remarked optimism in the former MP to reclaim her lost pride in her second coming having portrayed to have the constituency and its indigenes at heart.
The former Education Minister in her contest is set to battle it out with two other candidates who have already went in for their forms having appeared the only female in the race.
Meanwhile, the party's parliamentary primaries as earlier announced is slated for February 24, 2024.
