The Minister for Sanitation and Water Resources who doubles as Member of Parliament for Tano North Constituency in the Ahafo Region, Hon. Freda Akosua Prempeh has come out to discard her widely criticized comment on the Akosombo Dam victims to have been judged out of context.
The Sanitation Minister in her earlier submission is published to have blamed victims of the Akosombo spillage to have acted blatantly to the call by expects to evacuate their place of residence prior to the unfortunate occurrence, termed to be a man-made disaster.
But the Minister in an impromptu press briefing at the Kotokuraba Market in Cape Coast in the Central Region following a visit as part of the scheduled activities to the official launch of the Global Hand washing Day, took time to recount that her comment passed on the Akosombo Dam disaster has been misunderstood by the populist.
She remarked to have been emphasizing on the stimulation exercise earlier undertaken prior to the spillage, which to her amusement has been twisted.
The Hon. Minister bemoaned to Sompa News Eric Annan over the fact that her colleague Members of Parliament are lambasting her over the statement she addressed to have been misunderstood.
According to her, can never pass out such disheartening comment on such bereaved individuals who have lost virtually every asset of theirs to the flooding of Akosombo Dam and requires nothing less than her sympathy. Judging from her in-depth knowledge on communication having professionally been trained as a Journalist, coupled with her vast experience in politics.
