The Economic Policy Advisor and Spokesperson to the Vice President Dr Gideon Boako has won the New Patriotic Party (NPP) parliamentary primaries in the Tano North constituency of the Ahafo region.
It was a two-horse race between the three times incumbent member of parliament Hon Freda Prempeh and Dr Gideo Boako who is contesting for the first time.
Dr Gideon Boako polled 444 votes, while Hon Freda Prempeh trailed behind with 221.
The campaign leading up to the elections was intense, with both candidates tirelessly traversing the Tano North constituency, addressing party agents and outlining their visions for the area.
The win was met with jubilation among his supporters and party faithfuls in the constituency.
Some party members in the constituency expressed confidence in Dr Boako's ability to deliver another victory for the New Patriotic Party in the upcoming December 7 parliamentary elections.
Speaking to the media after his victory, the Spokesperson to the vice president Dr Boako was optimistic that NPP will win the seat again in the constituency with a huge margin.
While he was calling for unity ahead of the 2024 general elections he also commended the delegates for their dedication and support before and during the elections.
