Former Ghana Football Association President Mr. Kwesi Nyantakyi has assured the people of Ejisu constituency in the Ashanti Region that he is more than prepared to take over from the late former Deputy Minister of Finance as the Member of Parliament for the area.
Speaking to Omanhene Yaw Adu Boakye, host of Sompa Ade Akye Abia morning show on Tuesday, Mr. Kwesi Nyantakyi said he has received calls from people in the area including traditional authorities to contest, win and support them as an MP but due to the busy schedules during his time as the Ghana Football Association President he could not honour their calls.
According to him, he had nursed the ambition to lead NPP as the Member of Parliament since 2012 but in all these years he had to reserve his ambitions partly due to the late Hon. Lawyer Dr. John Kumah’s ascendency to the seat as Member of Parliament.
He asserted the departure of the late MP must see another political heavyweight who has the worthwhile and the connections that would see continuity from where he ended with the development.
He posited, “I see the late John Kumah as the Lionel Messi or Ronaldo and for that matter another big player like Haaland or Mbappe must succeed him and of course I am the right candidate to fill the void left behind by Hon. John Kumah.”
Mr. Kwesi Nyantakyi has therefore appealed to the delegates to vote for him adding they would never regret doing so.
