Authorities of Kukuom Traditional Council in the Ahafo Region have accused foreigners bused to the community as the main cause of violence being recorded in many parts at the limited voters’ registration centers in the area.
Omanhene of Kukuom Traditional Council Osahene Nana Kwaku Takyi Ababio said they are demanding immediate withdrawal of the said foreigners from the area to ensure peace prevail in the area.
The council further poured libation as a sign to kick out the curse of violence on the perpetrators adding that the true citizens of the area would never resort to any act of violence to impugn the image of the tradition.
It would be recalled that the Member of Parliament of Asutifi South Hon. Collins Dauda was allegedly arrested and granted bail while Hon. Eric Opoku of Asunafo North were all mentioned in association of the violence that happened over the weekend during the disturbances at some registration centers.
But Osahene Nana Kwaku Takyi Ababio addressing the media said the chiefs are really angry at the development and would ensure such unlawful acts are not repeated.
Livid Osahene Nana Kwaku Takyi Ababio insisted that the limited voter registration exercise should not call for such an escalated violence to the extent of the resulting in violence to that propensity.
He has therefore warned individuals trooping into the towns in the communities to desist immediately and rather focus on registering at their communities where there would not be any disputes with regards to their registration.
