A former head of the Political Science Department of the University of Education, Winneba, Dr. Isaac Brako has said he won’t be surprised if the Manhyia South Legislature gets the nod to be chosen as the running mate to Dr. Mahamadu Bawumia in the run up to the December general elections.
According to him Dr. Mathew Opoku Prempeh has acquitted himself quiet so well as the former minister of Education and as the current Energy Minister, where no scandal and issues of demonstrations were recorded during his tenure.
Dr. Isaac Brako was sharing his thoughts with SOMPA NEWS about the rumours that the NPP Flagbearer and Vice President Dr. Bawumia has appointed the Minister of Energy Dr. Mathew Opoku Prempeh as his running mate.
Sources claimed that Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, the flagbearer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), has proposed the Energy Minister Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh, also known as NAPO, as his running mate to President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo. Sources from the presidency say that a meeting was convened on Tuesday night where Dr Bawumia sought advice from President Akufo-Addo regarding his choice of a running mate. It is reported that President Akufo-Addo provided some guidance, shared his views, and eventually endorsed Dr Bawumia’s selection.
But Dr. Isaac Brako said the Manhyia South Member of Parliament has enviable attributes such as strong experience from the Parliament, policy broker, team player, trustworthiness and above all compactible to the flagbearer of the party, which he added Dr. Mathew Opoku Prempeh already have them.
