Dr Gideon Boako, the Election Parliamentary Candidate (PC) of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) won the Tano North constituency seat in the parliamentary elections.

Dr Boako, also the spokesperson of the Vice President Alhaji Dr Mahamudu Bawumia polled 21,127 votes to beat his sole contender Mr Pius Sampson Opoku, the National Democratic Congress (NDC) who had 17,707 votes.
