The Ashanti Regional Chairman of the NDC Mr. Augustus Andrews Nana Akwasi has called for immediate renovation of the Ashanti Regional Coordinating Council which also serves as the office for substantive regional ministers since the current condition of the facility is an eye sore.
According to the Ashanti Regional NDC Chairman, the out-going Ashanti Regional Minister Hon. Simon Osei Mensah under the Nana Addo government was rather using hotels and other private places to host himself and his guests at the expense of the state instead of seeing the bungalow in good shape.
He indicated that the same facilities used to host President John Mahama during his first term whenever he visited the region adding the out-going regional minister must be held accountable for supervising the deteriorated condition of the bungalow.
The Ashanti Regional Chairman of the NDC Mr. Augustus Andrews Nana Akwasi made the call today when he visited the regional Co-ordinating Council to inspect the current condition of the office adding that he was extremely appalled to witness the situation.
He further alleged that the outgoing occupants have further stolen some items from the bungalow since it is a complete shadow of its former self compared to how they left the facility behind in 2016 after their defeat.
Mr. Augustus Andrews Nana Akwasi indicated that he was utterly dismayed to the extent that the villa was full of bushes and unkempt, and undeserving of the first gentleman of the region.
He said the NDC would take the NPP on over the unfortunate way they had managed the regional administration insisting that it would serve the incoming NDC appointees to take good care of it once they assume office.
