Minority Chief Whip, Frank Annoh-Dompreh Appeals to Speaker of Parliament Alban Bagbin to make consequential orders to the Privileges Committee over Verbal attack by Acting Chief Executive Officer of the Petroleum Commission, Emeafa Hardcastle
Minority Chief Whip, Frank Annoh-Dompreh called on to the Speaker of Parliament today on the floor to consequentialy direct the privileges committee pending its formation to address a confrontation that ensued between himself and a guest at the Appointments Committee vetting.
There was a confrontation between the Acting Chief Executive Officer of the Petroleum Commission, Emeafa Hardcastle and the Nsawam-Adoagyiri lawmaker. The confrontation which was captured in a video saw Emeafa Hardcastle calling him "silly".
Speaking on the Floor of the House, Annoh-Dompreh acknowledged that though the woman in question has apologized, the issue must be looked into to serve as a deterrent to others.
Meanwhile, the Member of Parliament for Adaklu Kwame Governs Agbodza made an apology on behalf of the Minority and called the Legislator to put the matter to rest.
The Speaker of Parliament, Alban Bagbin has announced plans to personally invite the Acting Chief Executive Officer of the Petroleum Commission, Emeafa Hardcastle for a probe into the matter on Thursday, January 30, 2025 before making any further determination on Friday.
