The Apegyahene of the Asebu Traditional Area in the Central Region, Nana Obokese Ampah, has urged appointees of the John Mahama-Jane Opoku-Agyemang administration to work diligently and with determination to avoid any setbacks for the National Democratic Congress (NDC) government.
In a media engagement, Nana Obokese Ampah emphasized the importance of appointees performing their Ministerial and CEO roles with vigor, stressing that their work ethic should reflect the legacy of President John Dramani Mahama.
He cautioned against a lackadaisical attitude that could tarnish the hard work of the NDC and harm the party’s reputation.
The respected chief also advised government appointees to learn from the electoral defeat faced by the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the 2024 elections.
He suggested they use this loss as a yardstick to improve their performance and ensure that the NDC remains strong heading into future elections.
Nana Obokese Ampah lamented the previous NPP administration’s failure to listen to the concerns of the people, which he believes contributed to their electoral humiliation and the current state of affairs in Ghana.
In his submission, Nana Obokese Ampah made a direct appeal to influential figures from the Central Region within the NDC administration, including Vice President H.E. Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang, Finance Minister Hon. Dr. Cassiel Ato Forson, the newly appointed EPA boss, Prof. Nana Ama Brown Klutse, Hon. Kwamina Minta Nyarku (MP for Cape Coast North), Deputy Majority Leader Hon. George Kweku Ricketts-Hagan, and Hon. Felix Kwakye Ofosu.
He urged them to put their best efforts into improving the living conditions in the region and uplifting its citizens.
The revered chief’s call reflects a combination of political responsibility and regional advocacy, encouraging both national unity and local development.
