Hakeem Addae, the current National Democratic Congress (NDC) Chairman for Twifo Atti-Mortwa has emerged victor of the Central Regional Counsel of State election after pulling 18 votes of the 44 total valid votes cast.
The election which had 10 candidates aspire for one to be elected to represent the Region as member for the Counsel of State, saw 44 voters decide the fate of these candidates.
On the voting pattern, two Assembly Members were selected from each of the Region's 22 districts with the election held at the Regional Coordinating Council in Cape Coast.
However, on the disparity of gender, the election had just one (1) female who stood to rob shoulders with the compatriot of nine (9) abled men on the quest to be elected as a member of the Counsel of State.
After the election, Francis Ejaku Donkoh who appears first on the ballot sheet pulled 11 votes as Nana Obokomatta IX had 10 votes.
On the other hand, Nana Okutsekupong V, Habib Mohammed, Seth Festus Appiah, Osagyefo Amanfo Edu VI, and Alexander Fiifi Ghartey all had 0 votes while the only lady in the race, Hannah Cudjoe garnered 2 votes, as Ogeedom Nana Obranu Kwesi Atta VI amassed 3 votes.
Speaking to the media after his victory, Chairman Hakeem Addae disclosed his vision and plans for the Region and assured to chance on his good relationship with President John Dramani Mahama to draw enough development to the Central Region.
