Some enraged individuals, identified as Concern Youths of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the Komenda-Edina-Eguafo-Abrem (KEEA) Constituency in the Central Region have stormed the Ankaful Nursing Training College to demand the relief of the school's Principal, Mr. Simon Dogedoung.

According to the group, the Principal has for years abused his position with corrupt practices like the sale of admission for GH¢4000 and above, as stuffs and students of the school are subjected to emotional and psychological torture amid his 20-year overstay at the college.

They alleged that under the Principal's watch, huge college funds have vanished through bloated contracts and procurement breaches, having openly campaign for the NPP in 2024, funding over 1,000 T-shirts and working to sabotage the re-election of Hon. Samuel Atta Mills, MP for the KEEA Constituency.

The group again admonished the Principal of building his personal two-room permanent apartment on college premises for his personal business. Adding that in 2018, he was investigated by EOCO over corrupt dealings, but that file was quietly buried by NPP insiders. Thus, beseeched the ruling NDC government to relaunch investigations into the matter.

The angry youths clad in red headbands with displayed placards and padlocks, locked up the college's main entrance and administration block which then had some stuffs going about their daily activities inside.

Addressing the press after a short chants in the school premises, leader of the group, Nana Fosu alleged that Mr. Dogedoung, the Principal of Ankaful Nursing Training College is mismanaging the school and turning it into his personal property, upon his 20-year stay in the school without any accountability.

He said, "the principal can't boost of a single project facilitated under his stewardship since his existence at the school." Stressing that "the principal needs to be removed from the college with immediate effect. Other than that, we will take the law into our hands and get him out ourselves," he fumed.

The group further proceeded to the Ankaful Psychiatric Hospital, which is meters away from college to also administer displeasure over how poor things are been run at the facility.

They bemoaned that the national mental health facility has for far too long, been mismanaged under the leadership of Dr. Evezi Quao and Dr. Julius Xatse and that, further seek the relief of the Acting Director of the Ankaful Psychiatric Hospital over gross administrative mismanagement

Nana Fosu in a statement said that the Acting Director of the Hospital, Dr. Quao and Dr. Julius Xatse have under their leadership, mismanaged the hospital's funds with no proof of account for about two years now, hence request for the relief off their duty at the medical facility.

The group leader lamented that, "you [media] can see for yourselves how bad even roads to the hospital are, with dumping site all over the Hospital premises, which speaks ill of the facility," he said.

However, both the Principal of the Ankaful Nursing Training College and Director of the Ankaful Psychiatric Hospital were nowhere to be found as at the time the group stormed these premises on Tuesday, June 3, 2025.
