The National Democratic Congress flagbearer hopeful, Hon Kojo Bonsu has given a hint of two years military training as national service for tertiary students if he becomes president of the country after the 2024 presidential and parliamentary elections.
The former major of Kumasi was speaking in an interview with Omanhene Yaw Adu Boakye of Sompa Tv in Kumasi on Friday, September 30, 2022 when he pass the comment.
According to him, this will go a long way to instill discipline among the Ghanaian Youth and will change the attitude and mentality of Ghanaians towards work.
“in my manifesto, I have said that every tertiary student after graduating will do a national service for two years instead of one year irrespective of your field of expertise either a teacher or accountant, you will all pass through the military training before you get a certificate to work, by so doing, it will trickle down the level of indiscipline and will not only instill discipline among the youth but rather will let them obey orders, be citizens who understand the rule of law and law abiding generation” he said.
The former major who supervised the construction of the Kejetia Market during his tenure in the John Mahama led NDC administration said he has not stepped foot at the market after its construction.
