Abesim-Dominase residents appeal for waste containers

Residents of Abesim-Dominase in the Sunyani Municipality have appealed to waste containers to improve sanitation in the area.
They expressed worry about lack of refuse dumpsite in the area, urging the city authorities to place waste containers at vantage points for waste collection.

In an interview with Sompa FM at Abesim, a resident, Madam Mamuna noted that the lack of refuse dumpsite and waste containers was contributing to indiscriminate disposal of household waste.
She said if not addressed urgently, the haphazard disposal of waste in the area could lead to outbreak of communicable and infectious diseases.

Mad Mamuna regretted that some residents dumped household waste to choked gutters.
