Aide to Tano North MCE calls on NAIMOS to be proactive in fighting galamsey

Mr Razack Iddris, the Special Aide to Mr Pious Opoku, the Tano North Municipal Chief Executive in the Ahafo Region has called on the National Anti-Illegal Mining Operations Secretariat (NAIMOS) to intensify their operations in the fight against the menace in the Municipality.

‎He made the call in an interview with Kwasi Kyei Baffour on the Friday edition of the Sunyani-based Sompa FM 'Adea Akyi Abia" morning show.

‎After accusing Nana Amoako Atta, the Ankobeahene of Tanoso in the municipality of engaging in galamsey, he turned round alleging that chief rather extorted money from the illegal miners operating in the area.

‎He explained that he leveled the allegations against the chief because the chief was sighted at an illegal galamsey site in the area in possession with some mining tools and equipment.
