Mr Alex Boampong, the Chief Executive Officer of the Alexiboam Company Limited, road contractors, has been honoured for his meritorious and humanitarian services.
The chiefs and people of Atronie, in the Sunyani Municipality, his home town, acknowledged and recognized Mr Boampong's passion for development too, rewarding him with a citation and cow.
According to Nana Amponsem Darko II, the Chief of Atronie, a farming community which owed allegiance to the Asantehene Otomfuo Osei Tutu II, noted that the people of the area would be forever grateful to Mr Boampong.
Addressing a community durbar at Atronie, Nana Darko II noted that Mr Boampong's immeasurable contributions to the holistic development of the area remained unmatched.
He emphasised that the honour was to inspire Mr Boampong to do more for the community as well as motivating other natives of the town, home and abroad to also contribute their quota towards the development of the area.
According the citation, Mr Boampong had demonstrated deep sense of responsibility, generosity and love for the people of Atronie.
On his part, Mr Boampong told the people that he was highly elated and inspired by the honour, and pledged his dedication to support the development of the area.
Mr Boampong who is executing the Sunyani-Atronie Road project, being funded by the government assured the people to deliver quality work, pledging to reshape some of the access roads in the Atronie Township free of charge.
He said the surest way he could give back to society was to put smiles on the faces and widows and orphans as well as the less privileged and other vulnerable people in the area.
Mr Boampong advised the people to put aside their differences and collectively champion and advance the development aspirations of the Atronie Township.
