Food vendor unhappy about poor sanitation at Sunyani Zongo

A food vendor in the Sunyani Zongo enclave, Madam Georgina is calling on the Municipal Assembly to improve sanitation in the area.

She expressed concern about poor drainage system, and indiscriminate waste disposal in the enclave, worrying if not addressed urgently, the situation could contribute to the outbreak of communicable and infectious diseases.

As the rains settled, Mad Georgina who sells fried yams, told Sompa FM in an interview in Sunyani that the gutters in the area were in appalling condition obstructing the free flow of waste water.

She regretted that stray animals like cattle were left to roam defecating around and thereby worsening the hygiene and poor sanitation situation.
