Some food vendors in Sunyani, the Bono regional capital are calling on their colleagues to improve the hygienic conditions at their food joints.
In an interview with Sompa FM, they emphasised that personal hygiene remained perquisite to guarantee food safety.
Mr Dennis Agyeman, an oil seller at the Sunyani main market noted that poor hygiene could contaminate food and also expose consumers to illnesses, urging the food vendors to frequently wash their hands with soap before handling food.
Akua Nsakaw, a rice seller at the Sunyani Night Market area also expressed concern about unsanitary environment at some food joints.
Mr Yaw Baafour also urged food vendors to maintain personal hygiene.
