GACC, partners sensitise Yawhima residents on corruption

The Ghana Anti-Corruption Coalition has (GACC) sensitized residents of Yawhima in the Sunyani Municipality on corruption and its attendant consequences in society.

‎The day's sensitization event aligned with the implementation of the "Strengthening Accountability, Rule of Law and Institutional Responsiveness in Ghana", project being implemented by the GACC in collaboration with the CDD- Ghana and Transparency International with funding from the European Union.

‎Participants, mostly women were taken through forms and evidenced of corruption in their homes, schools, churches and mosques.

‎Johnson Mawuli Tsagli, the Bono Regional Administrator of the Commission on Human Rights and Administrative Justice (CHRAJ) noted that corruption remained the bane of accelerated national development.

‎He said the menace denied the citizenry basic facilities and called on everybody to contribute in the fight against corruption.

‎Madam Pamela Laourou, an Assistant Communication Officer at the GACC highlighted the importance of the sensitization.

‎Some beneficiaries also expressed their appreciation to the GACC and its partners, describing the event as insightful.
