It's unlawful for police to collect or seize driver's license-RSA

Mr Gabriel Kwame Okyere, the Public Relations Officer of the Bono Regional Office of the National Road Safety Authority (NRSA) says police personnel has no right to collect or seize driving license of any motorist.

He explained that the amended Road Safety Act, LI 2180 did not allow the police to collect the driving license for inspection.

Mr Okyere said this when he spoke to Kwasi Kyei Baffour on the Sunyani-based Sompa FM "Ade Akye Abia" morning show.

He explained that amendment of the Act had also introduced the compulsory towing of grounded vehicles on the roads and highways.
