A Reverend Minister, has called for nation to recruit the unemployed youth to engage in sanitation and waste management activities for improved sanitation.
According to Rev Daniel Mensah, engaging the youth to undertake daily sanitation activities would also greatly reduce nation's growing youth unemployment rate, saying that could also serve as an alternative to the monthly communal sanitation exercise.
In an interview with Sompa FM in Sunyani, the Rev Minister noted that the monthly sanitation exercise placed huge financial stress on the various Metropolitan, Municipal and District Assemblies.
Reacting, Mr. Dennis Korang Yeboah, a concerned residents backed the Rev Minister proposals, justifying that the funds being spent on the monthly sanitation exercise could be utilized to pay the monthly allowances of the recruited young people.
