Mrs Mohammed Suraj, the Public Relations Officer at the Sunyani Technical University (STU) has urged the students to be focused and studious amid on-going strike by the Technical University Teachers Association of Ghana (TUTAG).
She urged the students, especially the freshers to leverage the university academic resources available at the campus and to learn themselves as the government negotiated with the TUTAG in addressing their concerns.
Mrs Suraj acknowledged that the TUTAG's industrial action was frustrating, and had caused students dearly when she spoke to the media in Sunyani.
During a visit, Sompa FM noticed that the strike had disrupted academic activities at the university and thereby leaving students in state of uncertainty.
Some of the students told Sompa FM that they had not attend lectures since the university resumed on October 5, 2026.
Farida Abdul, one of them appealed to the government to address the concerns of the TUTAG for academic work to resume.
