Bono Regional Director of NYA, Desmond Asaase has intimated that youth are indispensable stakeholders in national decision-making process especially on issues that affect them.
He made this comment at a consultative meeting held in Sunyani on Wednesday, September 9, 2026, held by the National Youth Authority together with the National Peace Council.
This engagement forms part of wider consultations for developing a National Action Plan (NAP) on Youth, Peace, and Security (YPS) to fulfill commitments under UN Security Council Resolution 2250.
The engagement afforded the youth the platform to share their opinions on issues affecting peace and security in their various communities.

Speaking to the media at the sidelines of the programme, Mr Asaase indicated that the youth play important roles in ensuring peace and security or otherwise hence the need to get their inputs on national issues.
Mr Asaase noted that despite Bono being relatively safe, there was the need to continuously protect the peace in the region to promote nation building.
Charles Nii Armah, Programmes manager, research, monitoring and evaluation department of the National Peace Council said the inputs received from the youth have been remarkable and would be helpful in the peace-building process.
Some of the participants shared their opinions with Sompa news.
