Tano South MP presents items to SHS students

Mr Charles Asiedu, the Member of Parliament (M) for Tano South Constituency in the Ahafo Region has presented some items to 300 students who have gained admission to Senior High Schools (SHSs) in the area.

The items comprised quantities of student mattresses, chop boxes as well as exercise books and other learning materials.

Speaking at a ceremony at Bechem, Mr Asiedu said the gesture was to lessen the financial burdens of families as their children and wards gained admission to SHSs.

The MP emphasised that he had prioritized education and pledged his dedication to improve quality education in the area.

Mr Asiedu said he was also implementing an award scheme to recognize and motivate hardworking teachers for them to double their efforts towards improving academic performance of students.

Madam Charity Gardiner, the Ahafo Regional Minister has cautioned Junior High School graduates against joining bad peers, as they transitioned to Senior High Schools (SHS).

Instead, she urged them to remain studious, discipline and avoid acts of lawlessness that could truncate their education and ruin their lives.
