Ghana youth star Emmanuel Toku has completed a move to Belgian Jupiler Pro League side OH Leuven, he confirmed this in an interview with Sompa Tv sports.
“I'm currently in Bulgaria, we had camped in Dubai so the process started there’ I'm currently waiting for my visa before I move to Belgium” he confirm.
“I have signed up for 3 years, my development has been monitored by them for quite some time now and I think this is the right time,” he told Abu Diaby.
Speaking via zoom from his base in Bulgaria, he told the host that the club is positioned to help his development.
“Yea I think the club is very good for my next step if I work hard.
According to him, he's yet to make any contact with any Ghanaian player in the Belgian Jupiler Pro League but hopes to do to the environment and the caliber of the league.
OH Leuven currently sits in the 10th position on the league log and Emmanuel Toku thinks hard work and teamwork will put them in a better position.
Toku started playing football at Cheetah FC in his home country of Ghana.
In 2019, he was transferred to the Danish club Fremad Amager, where he played 39 games, scored 12 goals and provided 6 assists.
In 2021 the 22-year-old Ghana switched to Botev Plovdiv in Bulgaria.
He came out 70 times for the Bulgarian Parva Liga in which he hit 8 times and handed out 6 assists in the process.
He was frequently featured in the Ghana youth national teams where he was part of the U17 team that finished second at the U17 Africa Cup of Nations in 2017 and later also reached the quarter-finals of the FIFA U17 World Cup in the same year in India.
