The head coach of the Black Meteors has emphasized the readiness of his team ahead of their last group match in the ongoing 2023 U-23 Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco.
Ghana faces the biggest test when they face Guinea on Friday evening at the Ibn Batouta Stadium in Tangier.
The Black Meteors were humbled 5-1 by host nation Morocco in their second group match on Tuesday, making today’s game a must-win one for the Meteors.
Speaking in a pre-match conference ahead of the game, coach Ibrahim Tanko stressed that his side is ready to do everything they can to move to the next stage.
“When it comes to the opponent, definitely we know that a draw is good for them, but we have to win. My team is prepared, we psyched them very well after the defeat against Morocco, and most of them have been in football for a long time, and they know these things can happen. We just have to put it behind us and then focus on the game against Guinea.”
Guinea presently retains the lead in second position due to a stronger goal difference, with both Guinea and Ghana amassing three points from two matches.
