The Vice President Alhaji Dr Mahamudu Bawumia has been praised for his commitment to deepening the nation's religious tolerance and diversity which have help consolidate national peace and social cohesion.
"As an astute Muslim, his ability to relate with and bring Christians, Muslims and other religious sects in the country", Mr Yaw Dabie Appiah Mensah, a leading member of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) stated.
In an interview with Sompa FM in Sunyani, Mr Mensah, a former NPP organizer in the Brong Ahafo region said, "with these traits, the Vice President remained the best Presidential candidate for the NPP for the party to win more votes in the 2024 general election."
Touching on the former President John Dramani Mahama's campaign promise to scrap the ex-gratia and review condition of service of Article 71 office holders, Mr Mensah said, "this is one of the political gimmicks of the former President to throw dust in the eyes of the public."
"Mr Mahama has had the chance to serve the nation before and as the greatest beneficiary of the ex-gratia, I wonder why the NDC leader is now advocating it's scrap. What exactly did the former President did on the ex-gratia when he was in government."
"In fact, the NDC is exhausted and the party has no campaign message or anything to offer Ghanaians. This is a whimsical promise from a politician, drunk and desperate to win political power", he stated.
