The ranking member on Defence and Interior committee in Parliament, Mr James Agalga has expressed dissatisfaction in the President over his failure to tell Parliament the true state of Ghana’s security and the frequent military brutalities meted out to civilians
According to him, “the President only touted some achievements in the security sector with his minister of defence doing same.”
Mr. Agalga said he was flabbergasted listening to the President as Commander in Chief of the Ghana Army Forces for one hour and some minutes without touching on the recent military brutalities, beatings and killing of innocent people In Wa, Bawku, Ashaiman among others.
The legislature also expressed worry by the President for not commiserating with the bereaved family of the soldier and also not sympathizing with innocent people who were beaten by the military in Ashiaman.
"Mr. Speaker, the President has failed to account for the true state of security in the country, the country security is not stable." the Builsa North legislator said.
