The minority leader and MP for Ajumako Enyan Essiam constituency of the Central region Hon Cassiel Ato Baah Forson has accused President Akuffo Addo and his government of been supper reckless in borrowing and spending which has led the country into economic crisis.
Contributing to the debate on the State of the Nation Address, the minority leader stated emphatically that President has borrowed an amount of GH¢ 455.7 billion in six (6) years of office.
He indicated that government has borrowed this huge amount of money but could not make good use of it, but only spend the money on consumption and needless expenditure.
Mr. Ato Forson also cautioned President for his incompetent in managing the country's public debt. And called on the minister responsible for finance to account to Ghanaians on how these borrowed money was spend.
He further challenged the President justification that the money his government borrowed was used for the purpose of roads constructions across the country. But he noted that no single of road was constructed in the Central Region.
To conclude to the debate on the SONA, he called on President Akuffo Addo as a matter of urgency appear before the House to deliver a proper account on how US$ 130 billion revenue collected was utilized.
