Former president, John Dramani Mahama has urged all Ward Coordinators of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) to fasten their belts toward Ghana's 2024 general election.
Having touted the pending election to be a boot-for-boot affair with its political arch-rivals New Patriotic Party (NPP). The former president has noted that together with the entire party members won't sleep but keep watch all night long at various polling centers across the country for fairness to prevail on their side.
He told Sompa TV/FM reporter Eric Annan that the NDC as a political party won't in any way witness a single loss should fairness and transparency prevail in the country's general elections.
He emphasized to delegates that the party in other not to be cheated once more as transpired in previous elections, come 7th December 2024 will vigilantly burn the midnight candle at various polling centers to clinch victory for the Umbrella Fraternity.
The former president disclosed that the party's polling agents during the election will be issued specific call lines to phone in their results from respective polling centers for a proper coalition at the head office to know their fate before the Electoral Commission (EC) comes in with its pronouncement.
John Mahama in his solicitation tour pleaded with delegates to vote number one on the ballot sheet ahead of the crunch flagbearership race. Having placed first after a successful ballot on Tuesday, March 29, 2023 at the party headquarters in Accra.
The NDC presidential primaries race commenced with three candidates which include Dr. Kwabena Duffuor and Mr. Kojo Bonsu in the competition after Mr. Ernest Krobea, a USA-based businessman last Tuesday pulled out from the contest to rally support behind the former president.
