The Ashanti Regional Executives of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) who were invited for questioning over the wearing of military camouflage have vowed to continue to wear the material.
According to the executives, what they wore during the Former President John Mahama’s campaign in the Ashanti Region was not a military camouflage because, there is a clear difference between a military camouflage and theirs.
This was made known at a press briefing by the party in the region on Wednesday, March 29, 2023 at the police Headquarters after they were invited by the police to write their statements on the matter.
Speaking to the media, the Deputy Ashanti Regional Secretary of the party Mr Baah Acheamfour categorically stated that, they are not going stop wearing the camouflage because they believe it is not a military camouflage.
“We are going to wear it today and tomorrow until the police is able to seek a court order that will stop us from wearing it.” Mr Baah Acheamfour told the press.
Mr Baah Acheamfour further alleged that the actions by the police clearly indicate that, the state security service is politically motivated and went further to invited them to join politics if they want to be politicians.
He also chided the Regional Police command saying they have failed in executing their duties as police officers because they were not able to differentiate between a military camouflage and an ordinary camouflage.
