President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has sworn in Hon. Dr Bryan Acheampong [MP for Abetifi Constituency] as Minister for Food and Agriculture.
The ceremony was held at the Banquet Hall of the Jubilee House on Tuesday, 4th April 2023.
The President also swore into office 5 other nominees for the various ministerial portfolios.
They include Hon. Kobina Tahiru Hammond as Minister for Trade and Industry and Hon. Dr. Stephen Amoah as his Deputy, Hon. Stephen Asamoah Boateng as Minister for Chieftaincy and Religious Affairs.
The others Hon. Mohammed Amin Adam as Minister of State at the Finance Ministry and Hon. Osei Bonsu Amoah as Minister of State at the Ministry of Local Government, Decentralisation and Rural Development.
The President charged his ministerial appointees to exhibit leadership that would focus on the progress of the country. He added that the people of Ghana, had confidence in his government hence the opportunity to serve the people again.
“I urge you to provide leadership that will ensure that the work which we are embarking on, benefits the progress of our nation and discharge your duties diligently and with humility,” the president said.
The President stressed that the experiences of the Ministers and the Deputy Minister would bring value to the governance of the country at a time when the country is faced with challenges regarding the economy.
On behalf of the Ministers and Deputy Minister, Mr. Stephen Asamoah Boateng thanked the President for the opportunity to serve in his government and promised that they would discharge their duties to the expectations of the President and the good people of Ghana.
President Nana Addo Danquah Akufo-Addo presented to each of them an Instrument of Office after which they signed the oath book which was sealed off with the signature of the President.
