Vetting for aspirants in the National Democratic Congress (NDC) parliamentary primaries in the Central Regional has on Tuesday, April 4, 2023 come to a successful end at the party's regional office in Cape Coast.
The two-day event which commenced on Monday, April 3, 2023, saw 56 aspirants vetted from twenty (20) out of the region's twenty three (23) constituencies with three (3) constituencies placed on hold.
These constituencies include
Effutu, Assin North and Gomoa Central for reason being that Constituency Executives from these areas are yet to be elected over pending internal issues.
The vetting process witnessed a five member panel with two national executives from the party's head office joining the NDC Central Regional Chairman, Prof. Richard Kofi Aseidu for the activity.
Mr. Joseph Yamin, the NDC National Organizer who formed part of the vetting panel addressing the media after vetting detailed to Sompa News reporter Eric Annan the disqualified aspirants still have an opportunity of appealing the decision at the national level.
He revealed five aspirants to have proceeded unopposed.
The former Deputy Sports Minister disclosed that the number should have been six but left for few things to be thrash out.
He, therefore, enlisted constituencies to have had its aspirants go unopposed to be Awutu Senya West, Assin Central, Upper Denkyira East, Ajumako Enyan Essiam and Upper Denkyira West.
