Redrawn aspirant in the ongoing National Democratic Congress (NDC) parliamentary primaries for Mfantseman Municipality, Hon. Fiifi Buadu has been admitted at the Mercy Women’s Catholic Hospital in Mankessim over a suspected food poisoning.
The parliamentary aspirant who recently stepped down to rally support behind Hon. Emmanuel Coffie, got hospitalized on Sunday, April 16, 2023 after complains of an abnormal uneasiness.
The victim reported of the unusual experience after taking a drink served by his driver.
Information gathered by Sompa News reporter Eric Annan have Maria Hattum, wife of the victim who doubles as the NDC Women’s Organizer for Mfantseman Constituency to be the prime suspect to the incident having fleed without a trace as attempts made by the police all turned futile.
Ofosuhene Gyimah, driver to the victim has been arrested and remanded to two weeks police custody by the Mankessim Circuit Court 'B' to assist in police investigations after admitting to the crime.
Hon. Fiifi Buadu who speaking to Sompa News confirmed of the incident, recounted that the driver couldn't hold to his peace over the atrocity after falling sick, confessed to the issue to have been contracted by some group which his wife allegedly falls part, upon seeing him to be a political threat to their candidate.
He revealed to have no issues with both the wife and driver prior to the act, but said to leave everything in the hands of the law to have its way on the enlisted suspects.
Ali Gambo, Former Assembly Member for Mankessim's New Nkusukum Electoral Area who appeared witness to the court hearing at the Mankessim Circuit Court 'B', narrated that the statement of Hon. Fiifi Buadu's driver reveals, he was contracted by the politician's wife and three other women who he failed to identify after been made an offer of GH¢50,000.
The Mankessim Food Safety Commissioner is said to have taken a look into the issue with a sample of the food been collected for testing.
Meanwhile, the Emergency Unit of Mercy Women’s Catholic Hospital has exposed Hon. Fiifi Buadu to be under stable condition upon his admission to its facility.
