Ghanaians should count themselves as lucky individuals to have former President John Dramani Mahama lose the 2016 general elections after his first term, NDC MP for Buem constituency has said.
Hon Kofi Adams, speaking in an interview on Sompa FM in Sunyani explained, "God himself has given Ghanaians the opportunity to make President Mahama lose after his first term so that he will learn from his mistakes and come back again. I am more than convinced that in the next four (4) years of his administration we will enjoy a better governance."
The former National Organizer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) indicated that, the 2024 general elections would not be 'try me and see' thing. He is an experienced person.
"Ghanaians should be grateful and thankful for having John Dramani Mahama who has been the President for four years, being in opposition, learnt a lot of lessons and is coming back to make a great difference", Mr Adams told Nana Kwame Owusu Nkwantabisa, host of Ade Akyea Abiaa show on Sompa FM.
Former President John Dramani Mahama is currently touring the country to get delegates of the NDC party to vote for him in the party's Presidential and Parliamentary Primaries slated for May 13.
Mr Adams noted that former President Mahama will not work with more than sixty (60) ministers, saying there wouldn't be a minister and another Minister of state who would perform same roles.
"He merged the ministry of information and the ministry of communication under his tenure in 2013. The transport ministry under his tenure was maintained without breaking it into aviation, railway and highway. So if he says he's going to work with sixty (60) ministers we must have trust in him. He has done it before and will do it."
Mr Kofi Adams said there wouldn't be a situation under President Mahama that ministers would be appointed and pressure would mount on Parliament to reject them because of the large size of government.
