The Cape Coast District Court 'B' presided over by His Worship Eric Oheneba Antwi-Boasiako on Friday, May 5, 2023 sat on the case of an alleged attack launched on Prof. Nana Ama Browne Klutse, a National Democratic Congress (NDC) parliamentary aspirant for Abura-Asebu-Kwamankese (AAK) constituency in the Central Region.
The attack is alleged to be perpetrated by some men said to be the bodyguards of Felix Ofusu-Kwakye, an aspiring rival to the victim who doubles as a former Communications Minister to the country
A report by Sompa TV/FM's Eric Annan indicate suspects to have attacked victim's Toyota pick-up vehicle to the vandalising of the car's side mirrors with stones after a campaign trip to Moree.
Victim is narrated to have alighted from the vehicle few minutes before the incident.
The incident took place on Thursday, 4th May, 2023 at Moree a suburb of the AAK constituency.
Prof. Nana Ama Browne Klutse who expressed shock to the occurrence, revealed that suspects have admitted to the crime at the Kotoburaba police station and said for the law to have its due cause on them.
Suspects, Justice Peter Tuwohofo, a 45year-old Driver, Kwesi Kaya, a 47year-old fisherman and Samuel Rockson, a 37year-old trader appeared before the Cape Coast District after their arrest by the Kotoburaba police command on Thursday evening.
Court after its hearing of the case granted a bail of GH¢20,000 with two sureties of which one should appear a civil servant who earns not less than GH¢2,000 each to the suspects.
Felix Ofusu-Kwakye speaking to the issue declared never to subscribe to the incident which has his name linked to it as the masterminder.
He said to be a strong advocate against hooliganism in the country who even stood against the establishment of the Hulks in the NDC party, hence can never condescend to such an act.
Accused persons are to reappear before court on May 19 after meeting all bail conditions.
