The National Democratic Congress (NDC) on Saturday, June 10 marked its 31 years of existence with the people of Assin Gangan in the Assin North Constituency in the Central Region.
Founded in July 1992, the NDC celebrating its 31st flag raising ceremony with the people of Gangan deems it the political party's birthday present to the Assin North Constituency prior to its heavy showdown with the New Patriotic Party (NPP) later this month.
Assin North as earlier publicized come Tuesday, June 27 will hold the country to a halt following its highly anticipated by-election.
Party gurus who graced the occasion includes: Joseph Yamin, the NDC National Organizer, Sammy Gyamfi, the party's National Communications Officer, Hannah Bissue, the National Women's Organizer for NDC, former Minister for Health who once served as the Minister for Fisheries and Aquaculture Development, Madam Sherry Ayittey, Hon. Richard Gyan-Mensah, MP Gomoa West, James Gyakye Quayson, the Central Regional NDC Executives among others
Madam Sherry Ayittey speaking at the event addressed the Umbrella Fraternity to be the sole political party through which majority of Ghana's developmental projects were brought to bare, be it construction of health facilities, schools, the provision of accessible drinking water and electricity.
According to her, the NPP which appears the NDC's political arch-rival has done nothing significant than to rake elections.
She said the NPP since time memorial has never won elections on fair grounds but through dubious means.
James Gyakye Quayson, the NDC Parliamentary Candidate in the Assin North by-election at the program declared his sheer readiness to clinch back his dethroned position as the area's Member of Parliament.
