Deputy General Secretary of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Mustapha Gbande has denied ever accusing the flagbearer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) Dr Mahamudu Bawumia for attempting to create conflict within the opposition party.
He is alleged to have said that Dr Bawumia visits NDC party executives clandestinely in an attempt to convince them to support him in his quest to capture political power in the 2024 elections.
His comments is believed to have come after Northern Regional Treasurer, Hajia Razak Shamima, and the Regional Vice Chairman, Mr Gbewa allegedly traded blows at the party’s office over party funds on January 14, 2024.
But Mr Gbande noted that the story attributed to him on most news portal is false and does not come from him.
Speaking to Nana Kwame Owusu Nkwantabisa, host of Sompa Ade Akyea Abiaa show in Sunyani on Tuesday, he indicated that the Vice President is irrelevant to the internal politics of the NDC and he cannot influence any NDC member against the party.
The Deputy General Secretary pointed out that Vice President and his team are rather desperate for power and therefore are employing any foul means make it happened.
He called on well-meaning Ghanaians to vote massively against Dr Bawumia saying "he has no credibility to lead the country."
