The campaign team of Hon. Augustine Collins Ntim, Member of Parliament for Offinso North Constituency in the Ashanti Region is said to have been previewed to a press conference held by some people believed to be championing a selfish agenda by Dr. Fred Kyei Asamoah, an aspiring Offinso North New Patriotic Party parliamentary candidate who doubles as the Director General of the Commission for Technical and Vocational Education and Training.
The team who equally emerges NPP faithfuls at the constituency following the press conference by these identified supporters of Dr. Kyei Asamoah, express disappointment in the parliamentary aspirant having described him and his supporters as ingrates to the Akufo-Addo-Bawumia government and the MP for the constituency despite his overwhelming initiatives.
In setting the records right over the purported falsehood put out by the camp of Dr. Fred Kyei during its press conference responded that:
1. Hon. A.C. Ntim has never directed the Productive Inclusive under the Safety Net Project to give money entitled to other people to delegates.
The truth of the matter is that, Hon. A.C. Ntim in his eagerness to alleviate poverty from Offinso North, introduced cashew and other cash crops to be nursed and distributed to farmers across the constituency.
This project was initiated when the NPP was in opposition, but due to the good relationship between the party people and the MP, some party executives devoted and sacrificed to make sure the project become a success.
When the NPP came into power, those who were already on the nursing of these cash crop seeds were enrolled to the Safety Net Project and earned a little stipends which qualified them to be beneficiaries of other components of the Safety Net of which they are anticipating a lump sum to get themselves into micro businesses.
These people behind the presser if not for anything should have commended Hon. A.C. Ntim for getting people into micro businesses with his initiative rather than trying to tarnish his hard earned reputation.
2. Exclusion of Some Delegates From Party Meetings.
Hon. A.C. Ntim has never excluded any party executive from meetings organized by the party. This gesture transcend from the constituency to the regional level. The Ashanti Region NPP can even attest to his contribution to the party.
What happened was that, during the Christmastide, the MP organized a private meeting to discuss with delegates his intentions to contest again in the upcoming parliamentary elections.
Though his decision to contest was inspired by the delegates themselves because of the human and infrastructure development they have witnessed at Offinso North.
The meeting was accordingly done in batches to a political strategy the campaign team of Hon. A.C. Ntim deployed.
For the records, every delegate was given a specific time and venue as deemed appropriate by the campaign team.
So when a few people suggest Hon. A.C Ntim should have boxed all delegates together at one corridor, No! The strategy this round was different, which those who appear committed to the course of NPP likewise remained committed to the MP's slated time as he had a fruitful engagement with these faithful members of the party.
3. Curses Before Taking Money.
This allegation is very strange because, every person who knows Hon. A.C. Ntim can attest to his humility and dedication to God and his act of giving to society and empowering people by means of creating opportunities and sponsorship for others in business and in other endeavors in life.
His regular gifts to party executives and other people within and around the constituency has been a routine ritual for the Honourable Member of Parliament even when the party was in opposition.
Through his benevolent gesture, he recently distributed over 2,000 pieces of clothes and cash to widows, people with disability and other people within the Offinso North Constituency.
He has given 1000s of scholarships to students in various levels of education and distributed over 150,000 pieces of coconut seedlings, over 2,000,000 seedlings of cashew, over 500,000 of Cocoa and Citrus seedlings to farmers in the constituency.
Over one thousand five hundred (1500) boxes of weedicides, over 9000 pieces of cutlasses, over 1000 bags of fertilizer, 15000 pairs of wellington boots, and other farm inputs to farmers in the constituency.
In all these, nobody can say they were made to swear before giving these items.
We wish to state that, these figment of imaginations from the camp of Dr. Fred Kyei Asamoah should be disregarded and trashed. "Wontumi wone3ma, wose wokahyire ny3."
4. Warehousing of Motorbikes and Onward Distribution To Delegates.
This allegation is laughable because according the camp of Dr. Fred Kyei, a warehouse located at Nkenkaasu and was even lobbied by the MP is within the control of the District Assembly.
The last time we checked, there is no dedicated security personnel who engages the place for safe keeping of items. The assembly is now liaising with the Middle Belt Authority to finalize agreement on the warehouse before they can even start using it.
It's just an act of insincerity that will occasion such allegation. In any case, Hon. A.C. Ntim has a big house that can accommodate any item he intends giving to party people when he deems it appropriate.
This is not the time to influence anyone materially because delegates within the constituency are discerning enough to read in between lines.
During the 2020 elections just like any other general elections, the over eighty (80) motorcycles that were given to party people to campaign for the party were all assembled and packed at one of the residences of the MP.
Hon. A.C. Ntim at the full glare of party members, bought these motorbikes with his own money. Hence the need to have them retrieved and kept safe for subsequent campaign endeavors. There is nothing to hide when you are clean.
We see this allegations as nothing but a display of confusion and frustration in the camp of Dr. Fred Kyei Asamoah.
If you can't beat us, just join us. After all we are one family.
5. Abandoned Projects and the Darso Market.
Hon. A.C. Ntim has done a lot for Offinso North. There’s no project that he has abandoned in Offinso North. He has done marvellously well for the good people of Offinso North.
The old structure of the Darso Market were pulled down by the District Assembly after the MP ably secured an ultramodern market facility for the Assembly. One just like that at Nkenkaasu which contractor for the project is on site and has promised to complete it as scheduled.
This cannot be said to be in bad faith. Our people at Darso came into common grounds with the Assembly before the whole process began.
He has lobbied for the establishment of Paramedics and an Emergency Training Center at Nkenkaasu, a Local Government University in Akumadan, a Green House Village among others. For the number of people who are beneficiaries, we need another press conference to tell the story.
Contractors are busily working on all roads in the three big towns in the constituency, Akumadan, Afrancho and Nkenkaasu respectively.
Hon. A.C. Ntim for the avoidance of doubt has established two Senior High Schools and a Technical and Vocational School which through his effort has had these schools absorbed by government and are running perfectly.
These have created employment opportunities for over 250 teaching and non-teaching staffs aside creating access to thousands of youths to school.
The over 400 boreholes constructed for various communities within Offinso North over the years can never be said to have been abandoned.
Classroom blocks in various basic schools over the years are there and are in full usage by pupils.
Hon. A.C. Ntim aside his numerously executed projects in the constituency in 2008 commenced the building of bungalows for District Assembly staffs within the constituency to get a decent accommodation only for his government to leave office.
The project stalled for 8 good years, only for him to complete it immediately the NPP resumed power in 2017. These facilities are currently in use by various officers of the District Assembly and other agencies as well.
The magnificent court complex at Akumadan cannot be said to have been abandoned.
Just like the gigantic District Assembly Complex. A structure befitting a Municipality, yet Offinso North District is graciously enjoying at Akumadan all in the name of Hon. A.C. Ntim.
He is a doer and does what he says. Anyone who wants development for Offinso North is enthused by the level of development which is being spearheaded by Hon. A.C. Ntim.
The delegates are resolute and are poised to give him a resounding victory come 27th January and in the December general elections.
6. For the records, there is no falling of electoral fortunes of the NPP in Offinso North Constituency.
The records are there to prove. Unless our counterparts do not appreciate statistics.
The Offinso North Constituency elections is a zigzag line when drawn on a graph. Hence, with all these achievements of Hon. A.C. Ntim, it is expected that he will maximize votes come December 7th during the general elections.
This is even the more reason our delegates will chose Hon. A.C. Ntim to ensure continuity of trend.
Maybe, the NDC's have seen this trend hence their massive support for Dr. Fred Kyei Asamoah in this upcoming parliamentary primaries because it beats imagination that the NDC's will take this level of interest in the NPP's internal elections. We cannot commit this political mistake.
